CTV and CBS' Flashpoint is a tough police procedural drama that ups the ante by taking us behind the scenes of the Toronto emergency response unit.


The men and women of the team are an elite, highly trained team that handles the most dangerous assignments; they face deadly risks and their stories make for riveting drama.

The award-winning series is nominated for four Golden Nymph awards, as part of the Monte Carlo Film Festival next month, including Outstanding Actor for Enrico Colantoni.

Colantoni, who starred in "Just Shoot Me" and "Veronica Mars," returned home to Toronto where Flashpoint is filmed. He plays Sgt. Gregory Parker, which has special significance for him.

Enrico Colantoni - So many levels bring home to Toronto. My brothers been a cop 30 years and I was always in contact with friends of his on the Emegency Task Force (ETF). It’s just a wonderful reconnect to the city and to the past and to my family. I always wanted to be a cop because I idolised my brothers, and the uniforms were cool.

Chris Lowell is in negotiations to join the cast of "The Help," a DreamWorks project based on Kathryn Stockett's novel.

Emma Stone stars as Skeeter, an aspiring writer in 1960s Mississippi. Uncomfortable with the social norms around her, she sets out to write a book chronicling the way black maids are being treated by society. Lowell will play Skeeter's boyfriend, Stuart Whitworth, a senator's son who eventually breaks up with her because of the book.

Viola Davis and Bryce Dallas Howard also star. Shooting begins in the summer in Mississippi with Tate Taylor making his feature directorial debut. He also adapted the screenplay.
