Ashmore Cast As Lead In The Shrine
Aaron Ashmore has been cast as the male lead in the movie The Shrine.

After a young American backpacker goes missing in Europe, a group of journalists link his disappearance to a remote Polish village called Alvaina. Upon further investigation, the journalists discover that Alvaina has a history of bizarre cult activity revolving around human sacrifice. Hellbent on revealing the truth, they travel to the small village to uncover the story first hand. But after the discovery of an ancient stone statue hidden within the town, they quickly find themselves pursued by a mysterious and vengeful group of locals. Forced into the gruesome reality of true survival horror, the journalists soon realize that Alvaina hides a much darker secret than they could ever imagine.

Spooky.

Interview: Hansen Rocks
The first thing you have to know about Ryan Hansen is that he isn't actually a douche. He just plays one on the Internet and on cable TV and on network TV and periodically in movies.

He may, in fact, be the industry's most prolific depicter of the species.

Best known as the lovably hatable, rarely redeemable Dick Casablancas on "Veronica Mars," Hansen is having a season to remember.

The 27-year-old actor began his spring with a turn in "Friday the 13th." Not to spoil anything, but characters like the sort Hansen specializes in rarely last long in slasher movies.

Hansen has a lower mortality rate on the small screen, where he actually seems to be multiplying. He can be seen on TheWB.com's Josh Schwartz-created "Rockville CA" playing Chambers, a musician and spoiled gadfly so unseemly his actual name has been replaced with the sobriquet The Douche. Simultaneously, he's co-staring as aspiring actor, relentless networker and occasional douche Kyle on Starz' "Party Down," one of the year's best new comedies.

As if that isn't enough, Hansen appeared on an episode of "Gossip Girl," which served as a backdoor pilot for the now-not-happening spinoff series. We knew very little about his character, but we got points for guessing that the guy had douche-y tendencies.

Away from the screen, hm and his wife Amy are expecting their first baby any day now. With all of that on his plate, Hansen has plenty to talk about.

Interview: Enrico Talks Flashpoint
Daddy Mars is a favourite. Always will be. But before Veronica Mars Enrico Colantoni enjoyed success in popular comedy Just Shoot Me, and now the actor talks about his role in drama Flashpoint.

What is Flashpoint about? And who is the character you are playing?
Flashpoint, essentially, is a drama action television show about policemen, heroes and the cost of heroism. I play Greg Parker, he is the team sergeant. And he is a man, who is probably not like most police characters because he comes from an emotional intelligence. He has a great deal of compassion for the people he is dealing with. It sort of becomes a futuristic look at policemen because they are technologically advanced, they are emotionally advanced. So, they don't have that stormtrooper attitude „we are cops, we are tough, and we are going to kick your ass.“ There is a lot of heart, and a lot of soul in these people.

Does this have to do with the fact that the show is Canadian? Is there a special Canadian attitude in it?
I think that's very true. It's predominant, probably because it is Canadian produced, and Canadians as a people are more inclined to the negotiation and the dialogue peace keeping as opposed to control and ultimate annihilation. You think of Canadians as peace keepers. And I think it will translate much better in Europe, anyway, as opposed to the United States because there are a lot of people in the United States who are unfamilliar with the process: They are used to seeing people with guns, and explosions, and we really come across with a lot of heart and a lot of intelligence.

Yet, Flashpoint is also very successful on US television. Do you think that the show might become some sort of a door opener for other non-US series?
Oh yeah! This is introducing a lot of American audiences to Canadian television. In the past, Canadian television was limited because they were serving a smaller audience. But I think they now see the value of bringing it to the United States. CTV is committed to making higher quality shows that can easily be distributed and sold around the world. And the model in the United States is changing, too. They are trying to find good quality shows from around the world, and put it on their networks. It just makes good financial sense.

Greg Parker is not your everyday cop from your everyday TV show. How do you, as an actor, make him a unique character instead of just playing another cop?
I was interested in Greg Parker because he is a negotiator, he does have a base in psychology, and he understands human behaviour. It is very fascinating to play somebody who automatically extends his hand to someone as opposed to intimidate. That's who he is. He is the negotiator. He is the guy who can not be pulled in to the drama. He is reserved, yet compassionate. It's compelling to be able to play that, and represent policemen in that light.

You can watch Flashpoint in the UK every Saturday on ITV3 at 12.05am

Support Veronica Mars Movie Campaign
Since the closing credits of the season three finale, fans of Veronica Mars have been itching for more. After the disappointing news that The CW were not going to renew the show for a fourth season all we had to go on was a short film of what could have been - Veronica Mars in the FBI.

There has been news that Rob Thomas has been working on a movie to carry on the story fans so desperately want to see. Kristen Bell proclaimed that she was in if the movie was ever signed up. But there's a problem. Warner Brothers think we don't want a movie. They think we won't turn up to the cinema to see it and therefore they won't get their money back let alone make a profit. Makes business sense, except they are wrong. We do want a movie. We will go and see it. We will add it to our DVD collection. Now it's time to tell them so. Spurred on by Kristen Bell on Twitter, fans are now determined to make their voices heard.

VMUK is proud to announce their affiliation with Veronica Mars: The Movie Campaign. Please visit the site to find out what you can do to reach the goal of getting that movie we all so desperately want. What are you waiting for?
