Astroboy's Fiesty Sidekick Talks. A Lot!
The premiere of Astroboy took place in LA last night which means the internet is flooding with KBell interviews. The actress is talking. A lot! Ironically, the actress admitted she hates the sound of her own voice:

She said: "I can't even hear it on an answering machine. I throw the phone across the room. It's too high-pitched. I hear it all day, every day, so I'm over it."

Kristen comes from Michigan, and dislikes the way her accent becomes more exaggerated when she is around friends from the area.

Despite disliking her voice, the 29-year-old actress wouldn't change her upbringing.

She is currently dating actor Dax Shepard, who is also from Michigan, and thinks their bond is particularly strong because they are from the same place.

She explained to the USA Today newspaper: "I think that's why we get along so well. We were raised the same way. We're both very aware that this could evaporate in an instant and you better have a back-up plan, and I'm not talking about career. I'm talking about sanity."

Everything has been insane for Kristen Bell recently having finished promoting Couples Retreat, she move straight on to promoting new movie Astroboy. (We now totally get why When In Rome has been pushed back to 2010. Poor girl would have been exhausted and we know how Disney likes their girls fresh-faced!)

Bell also talked to Teen Hollywood

A character new to the Astro Boy universe was added to the mix for the movie. She's Cora, played by Kristen Bell, a "smart, resourceful girl who is a tough but caring den mother to a gang of kids. She teams up with Astro to save Metro City". At our interview, Kristen talked about the animation process in detail and spoke of the great respect she gained for the whole difficult task of creating an animated film. We learned about her girl-power character Cora, Cora's wardrobe and what is up next for the talented, former "Veronica Mars".

TeenHollywood: Were you at all familiar with Astro Boy, the TV show or the Manga?

Kristen: No. I had known the name in the back of my head for a while but I didn't know why he was significant or what the story really was but, after I read the script, I became familiar with how iconic he was overseas and how he was like the Mickey Mouse of Japan. There are so many incarnations of "Astro Boy" in Manga and there was a TV show in the '80's here. I just really liked the script in general. I thought it had a lot of great themes and was excited to be a part of it.

Bell Gets Animated About Her Work
Kristen Bell talked to Moviefone about Astroboy, Gossip Girl, Fanboys and Pootie Tang:

Is it true you didn't know much about 'Astro Boy' before filming?
I had no idea. I just love animation and I read the script and thought this is such a cool character with so many neat scenes. It's way deeper than an animated movie should be, without being pretentious or preachy.

What was it that attracted you to the movie?
I liked the environmental element and how it dealt with the deterioration of the Earth. The need to protect it is a storyline that's just in the background, but it does cause you to think because in Astro Boy's world, no one can really live on the surface of the earth happily anymore. I also liked the idea that even though you've been told from day one to dislike something or keep something at arm's length, you should really question it if your heart tells you the opposite. It's important for everyone to make their own decisions. Otherwise, we'd all be lemmings.

Bell Opens Her Heart About Dax
Kristen Bell is a busy girl. After a huge global publicity tour for hit movie Couples Retreat, Kristebn is looking forward to a rest.

The actress said, ""There's packing your day and then there's jam-packing your day, and I won't do it anymore. I need to decompress. I need to feel like I'm a person – a human being – first."

Boyfriend Dax has been by her side throughout her gruelling schedule, and Bell opens her heart about him.

"There is almost nothing, barring a natural disaster, that I would let eat into my time at home, playing Scrabble with Dax or talking to my girlfriends,"

"I’ve learned the necessity for healthy communication. How important it is to talk about your deepest, darkest fears and feelings. Your partner should hear your most embarrassing insecurities, because once you say them out loud, you’ve created a safe zone."

Of course, the couple, who've been together for years now, got to enjoy some of the comforts of home on the set when they filmed the movie When in Rome together.

"We were trying to one-up each other," she says. "That's what we do at home, too. It's like, 'Wait – watch me do this funny bit.' 'No, watch me do this funny bit!.'

And finally, the actress said, "A snuggle party can fix anything – it's true."
