Veronica Mars In Best TV of '00s List
Television is a huge part of life today. Whether we enjoy drama, science fiction, comedy or hell, even musicals (tip our hats to Glee), there is a show for everyone to invest in. And invest in shows we do. Losing ourselves in a combination of good writing, great acting and characters we can relate to can allow us a period of time when we can escape from our everyday lives.

Over the last ten years, television has shown us some of the greatest shows of all time - shows that will stay with us for a lifetime because they broke boundaries. The The A.V. Club dared to name their Top 30 Best Shows Of The '00s with the wonderful Veronica Mars taking the 15th spot.

15. Veronica Mars (UPN/The CW, 2004-07)
The first season of the Rob Thomas-created Veronica Mars is one of the singular achievements of ‘00s television: a season-long murder mystery that doubles as an inquiry into the class divisions in and around a Southern California high school. The second season upped the ambition level, adding a denser plot that was often hard to follow, but which paid off brilliantly. And then the third season—set at college—aimed for shorter stories and a lighter tone, and suffered significantly from the creative compromise. But throughout, star Kristen Bell grounded the twisty stories and soapy romances in a real character: a formerly popular teenager who uses her ability to slip between cliques to help make her classmates’ adolescences less confusing and unfair.
Essential episodes: “You Think You Know Somebody,” “Ain’t No Magic Mountain High Enough,” “The Bitch Is Back”

It really is quite an achievement for Veronica Mars to be named in a list that included critically acclaimed shows such as The West Wing, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Wire, The Sorpanos and Deadwood, the latter being a show that Kristen Bell once guest starred in.

Amanda Seyfried's Big Love did not go unnoticed. The show about polygamy came in at number 19.

Here is the Top Ten:
1. The Wire
2. The Sopranos
3. Arrested Development
4. Freaks and Geeks
5. Mad Men
6. Breaking Bad
7. The Office UK
8. Lost
9. Deadwood
10. The Shield

Mamma Mia! Sequel May Be On
Amanda Seyfried has revealed that the sequel to hit movie Mamma Mia! may be on the cards.

The actress revealed, "I've been talking to some insiders and it's not something that they haven't been working on. I actually don't know anything other than that."

She also rubbished the recent claim from co-star Colin Firth that a sequel wouldn't involve any Abba music. Firth apparently revealed that songwriter Benny Andersson had "put the kibosh" on using more of the Swedish pop group's tracks in a potential follow-up.

"I know it's still going to be Abba music, because what else would it be?" Seyfried said. "Come on, I wouldn't do Mamma Mia 2 without Benny and Bjorn. And I know Meryl's game as well, so bring it on. It will be so cool."

Bell Suffers For Her Art
Kristen Bell has begun dance training in preparation for her upcoming role in the film Burlesque but it's left her in pain.

"I've started dance rehearsals and my neck is sore and my inner thighs are so sore," the actress said.

My character is fun and sexy but not a stripper," Bell told E!. "There is no nudity, and there are no pasties and G-strings."

According to the report, Bell's costumes will run along the lines of "Madonna-esque cone bras" and "Marilyn Monroe boy shorts—the high-waisted panties kind of thing," Bell explained.

"Burlesque is a tease. It's not meant to really give that much away because that wouldn't be considered a tease. It would be considered giving away the goods."

Bell will start opposite artist Christina Aquilera with filmng starting shortly.

“I’m excited. I’m really excited. It’s a different role for me,” she explained. “It’s kind of a departure, which is exciting. I don’t want to be pigeonholed as the bubblegum girl next door and this is getting back to my snarkier roots. There is a lot of dancing in the movie, which is intimidating, but I think Christina is unreasonably talented in pretty much every facet of her life. She has written music for the movie, which is crazy good. I’m excited to start.”

Amanda Laughs At Lesbian Scenes
Following the premiere of Chloe, star Amanda Seyfried has received rave reviews for her captivating performance as an escort hired by a woman (Julianna Moore) to catch her husband (Liam Neeson) being unfaithful.

Seyfried has admitted to enjoying the filming experience. The actress said, " This is the first time I've worked on a movie with someone like Julianne where I've really been respected and treated like a peer. I'm telling you, it's the first time [that's happened] - and it's the best feeling in the world, because it makes me feel like an equal."

Being comfortable during the shoot was essential when Seyfried and Moore share an intimate scene.

"It's always very technical when you have to do something physically intimate," she explained. "[The Director] showed us exactly what he had in mind to make it as easy as possible and we just laughed!"

Humour is also an essential ingredient and following the now famour lesbian kiss with Megan Fox in Seyfried's recent horror flick Jennifer's Body, it could have been something the actress shied away from.

The actress added: "I keep swearing I'm never going to do this again and then I get another script I want to do except this time it's with a girl!"

But Seyfried isn’t so keen on her parents seeing her get steamy with her costars.

“(My parents) have just seen another film of mine—nudity and my mom got to see me have sex with two different types of people on screen. She’s OK, she knows it’s acting but it’s not necessarily OK with me. So it was difficult when my mom sat down next to me to watch ‘Jennifer’s Body.’”
